[B-Greek] BDAG

I've used both versions of BDAG quite a bit. For me, it comes down to
which program you are going to use the most in your day-to-day work in
the text. If you use Libronix more often, then most definitely purchase
the Libronix version. If you use BibleWorks, then purchase the
BibleWorks version.

I am a diehard fan of BibleWorks! That being said, there are some
"perks" to using the Libronix version.
1. It has "pop-up" translations of all the abbreviations. Most folks
don't easily recognize the many tiny abbreviations used throughout BDAG
to refer to primary and secondary resources. It's quite helpful to have
these pop-ups.
2. Cross references to canonical & non-canonical works (if present) are
available in Libronix. BibleWorks does have the ability to show pop-up
windows with the verses in the LXX/NT that are referenced by BDAG, but
Libronix will display pop-ups for Josephus, Philo, the Apostolic Fathers
and the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha. (Josephus, the Apostolic Fathers
and the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha are NOT available in Greek yet for
Libronix. Though they are in "pre-publication.")

So, as George mentioned, when it comes to the "richness" of Libronix's
cross referencing and pop-up explanations of abbreviations there is no
competition. But, as Curtis mentions, Bibleworks is the best (at least
in our opinion). I can't help but say that you would be hard pressed to
get the same features and texts in any other program for the same price
as BibleWorks. I use it as a permanent extension of my exegetical arm
when I'm studying or preparing lessons, so I'd rather have the
instantaneous access to BDAG within BibleWorks.

That's just my opinion.

Jim

PS: If you do have BibleWorks 7 and you decide to purchase the Libronix
version of BDAG, you can set up BibleWorks to automatically look up
Greek lemmas in the Libronix version using the Electronic Links Manager.
