While John's Gospel tends to place ALHQWS next to its verb, it cannot
be stated as a rule of Greek since counter examples abound.
MARK 14:70 hO DE PALIN HRNEITO. KAI META MIKRON PALIN hOI PARESTWTES
ELEGON TWi PETRWi: ALHQWS EX AUTWN EI, KAI GAR GALILAIOS EI.
MARK 15:39 IDWN DE hO KENTURIWN hO PARESTHKWS EX ENANTIAS AUTOU hOTI
hOUTWS EXEPNEUSEN EIPEN: ALHQWS hOUTOS hO ANQRWPOS hUIOS QEOU HN.
JOHN 8:31 ELEGEN OUN hO IHSOUS PROS TOUS PEPISTEUKOTAS AUTWi
IOUDAIOUS: EAN hUMEIS MEINHTE EN TWi LOGWi TWi EMWi, ALHQWS MAQHTAI
MOU ESTE
1JOHN 2:5 hOS D' AN THRHi AUTOU TON LOGON, ALHQWS EN TOUTWi hH AGAPH
TOU QEOU TETELEIWTAI, EN TOUTWi GINWSKOMEN hOTI EN AUTWi ESMEN.
LUKE 9:27 LEGW DE hUMIN ALHQWS, EISIN TINES TWN AUTOU hESTHKOTWN hOI
OU MH GEUSWNTAI QANATOU hEWS AN IDWSIN THN BASILEIAN TOU QEOU.
The same applies to NUN, it is often next to a verb but need not be:
JOHN 12:27 NUN hH YUCH MOU TETARAKTAI, KAI TI EIPW; PATER, SWSON ME
EK THS hWRAS TAUTHS; ALLA DIA TOUTO HLQON EIS THN hWRAN TAUTHN.
JOHN 12:31 NUN KRISIS ESTIN TOU KOSMOU TOUTOU, NUN hO ARCWN TOU
KOSMOU TOUTOU EKBLHQHSETAI EXW:
However in JOHN 1:47 it looks like ALHQWS fuctions as an adjective
with ISRAHLITHS.
JOHN 1:47 EIDEN hO IHSOUS TON NAQANAHL ERCOMENON PROS AUTON KAI LEGEI
PERI AUTOU: IDE ALHQWS ISRAHLITHS EN hWi DOLOS OUK ESTIN.
