18 hUMEIS OUN AKOUSATE THN PARABOLHN TOU SPEIRANTOS. 19 PANTOS
AKOUONTOS TON LOGON THS BASILEIAS KAI MH SUNIENTOS ERCETAI hO PONHROS
KAI hARPAZEI TO ESPARMENON EN THi KARDIAi AUTOU, hOUTOS ESTIN hO PARA
THN hODON SPAREIS. 20 hO DE EPI TA PETRWDH SPAREIS, hOUTOS ESTIN hO
TON LOGON AKOUWN KAI EUQUS META CARAS LAMBANWN AUTON,

Looking backwards from hOUTOS the first masculine singular
substantive is hO PONHROS. So grammatically it is possible. The
semantic structure of the context makes this difficult as you have
noted. I would consider the antecedent of hOUTOS to be the entire
scenario PANTOS AKOUONTOS TON LOGON THS BASILEIAS KAI MH SUNIENTOS
ERCETAI hO PONHROS KAI hARPAZEI TO ESPARMENON EN THi KARDIAi AUTOU.
Jesus is saying that this scenario is represented in the parable by
hO PARA THN hODON SPAREIS which is an abbreviated reference to both
the sowing and the snatching of the seed by the birds.
