SIMWN in the text of the Greek NT is NOT a Greek name but a Greek
spelling of a Hebrew/Aramaic name. Obviously it's not related to
Greek SIMOS "snub-nosed" nor any other Greek word.

If you intend to post messages regularly to B-Greek, you need to read
carefully through the list's FAQ at http://lists.ibiblio.org/o/b-
greek/faq.txt -- you will find there information about the list,
guidelines for participation in B-Greek discussion, our standard
transliteration system, and rules of list "netiquette" -- including
the requirement that all messages be signed with a full-name signature.
