Hello Folks,

Undoubtedly, George, what Oun is referring to is the material inserted in
codex W between vss. 14 and 15 of chp. 16 in Mark's Gospel, the last
twelve vss. of which comprise what is called the Longer Ending. But think
most people on this list know this, including yourself, George. Here's
what it looks like:

OUK EPISTEUSAN. (here vs 14 ends and the added material in W begins)
KAKEINOI APELOGOUNTO LEGONTES hOTI hO AIWN hOUTOS THS ANOMIAS KAI THS
APISTIAS hUPO TON SATANAN ESTIN, hO MH EWN TA hUPO TWN PNEUMATWN AKAQARTA
THN ALHQEIAN TOU QEOU KATALABESQAI DUNAMIN* DIA TOUTO APOKALUYON SOU THN
DIKAIOSUNHN HDH. EKEINOI ELEGON TWi CRISTWi, KAI hO CRISTOS EKEINOIS
PROSELEGEN hOTI PEPLHRWTAI hO hOROS TWN ETWN THS EXOUSIAS TOU SATANA,
ALLA EGGIZEI ALLA DEINA KAI hUPER hWN EGW hAMARTHSANTWN PAREDOTHN EIS
QANATON hINA hUPOSTREYWSIN EIS THN ALHQEIAN KAI MHKETI hAMARTHSWSIN* hINA
THN EN TWi OURANWi PNEUMATIKHN KAI AFQARTON THS DIKAIOSUNHS DOXAN
KLHRONOMHSWSIN. ALLA

(then vs 15 continues)

POREUQENTES EIS TON KOSMON hAPANTA KHRUXATE TO EUAGGELION PASHi THi
KTISEI.

Here's Metzger's translation:

<< And they excused themselves, saying, 'This age of lawlessness and
unbelief is under Satan, who does not allow the truth and power of God to
prevail over the unclean things of the spirits [or, does not allow what
lies under the unclean spirits to understand the truth and power of God].
Therefore reveal your righteousness now' -- thus they spoke to Christ.
And Christ replied to them, 'The term of years of Santan's power has been
fulfilled, but other terrible things draw near. And for those who have
sinned I was handed over to death, that they may return to the truth and
sin no more, in order that they may inherit the spiritual and
incorruptible glory of righteousness that is in heaven.' >>

So both EWN and AIWN appear in this passage but they are not different
forms of the same word. But I don't see here the acc. form, EWNTA, that
Oun mentions.

Yours in His grace,
