Not quite cold turkey. The only greek text I could get from the
library was Loeb so there is an english translation on the facing
page. But as is quite common with Loeb the english doesn't follow the
greek in a wooden manner and in fact this morning I found even the
temporal sequence in the greek text was slightly different from the
english.
I should point out that narrative is probably the simplest genera to
read with out extensive aids. The problem I was having yesterday was
actually one of morphology. What I was treating as a strange form of
a known word turned out to be a normal form of a rare word. This
happens now and then.
