If EUAGGELIZW means "to bring the good news", then the verse could be
rendered, "After all, that's why even the dead had the good news brought to
them".

EUAGGELISQH is passive of EUAGGELIZW, "proclaim (the gospel)" -- the  
sense is "the gospel was proclaimed to the dead."
