[B-Greek] Talking Points & Expectations: Why Learn (Biblical) Greek?

Louis, in #3 of your list of talking points, you have the statement
"To understand the confidence we can have in the identity of the NT text."
Would you elaborate on what you mean by this? Your talking point here could
be construed as referring to the "identity of the NT text" from a text
critical perspective. If so, I fail to see how a first year course in
Biblical Greek would produce the "practical benefit" of demonstrating the
relative purity of the transmitted Greek NT. Establishing the level of
confidence we can have in the transmitted text of the Greek NT would be a
fine undertaking, but it is not what I would normally think of as a benefit
of taking beginning Greek.
