As mentioned in an earlier request, Lucian of Samosata's work "The
Passing of Peregrinus" has the following statement on pages 12-13
(paragraph 11), as found in The Loeb Classical Library, Lucian with
an English Translation by AM Harmon Volume V, 1972:

και συνεγραφεν και ως θεον αυτον
εκεινοι ηδουντο και νομοθετη εχρωντο

KAI SUNEGRAFEN KAI hWS QEON AUTOΝ EKEINOI HiDOUNTO KAI NOMOQETΗι
ECRWNTO

However, a footnote on page 12 reads: ηδουντο [HiDOUNTO] Cobet,
Fritzsche: ηγουντο [HGOUNTO].MSS

Could someone please tell me the meaning and significance of this
alternate reading?

Does this alternate word appear in the GNT?

Do either of these words appear in the writings of the Ante-Nicene
fathers?

Regards
