I just looked at Zondervan's 2nd edition, and I am ... not
impressed. I, too, believe the font size is smaller, which
means it's not much better to read than the first edition.
And in fact, in looking at my copy of the 1st edition, it
seems to me that the paper is thinner in the 2nd edition,
because the printing on the back of the page seemed much
more apparent and distracting in the 2nd edition that I saw
at the store than my 1st edition. I really did not like what
I saw of the 2nd edition because of this - i.e., the paper
is too thin, and too much of the print shows through from
the other side. This is also the case with Zondervan's
"[Reverse] Interlinear For the Rest of Us" - i.e., very
thin paper. Considering how well the thin paper works for
Holmes' APOSTOLIC FATHERS IN GREEK AND ENGLISH, I don't
know why Zondervan can't use more opaque paper for these
books and thus make them more usable.
Also, Zondervan kept the very-difficult-to-navigate run-on
footnoting, instead of listing the glosses vertically in 2
or 3 columns. Instead, just like the 1st edition, the
numbering of the footnotes just runs from left to right,
line after line, and there isn't a separate line for each
entry; they just follow one after the other. See page
sample:

(The online page sample of course doesn't show you the page
"bleed through.")
So while this may be a "Reader's" Greek New Testament, I
don't consider it to be a "Reader-Friendly" Greek New
Testament.
YMMV.
