Titus 2:14 "who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed,
and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good
deeds." (NASB)
Titus 2:14 "He gave himself for us to set us free from every sin and to
cleanse us so that we can be his special people who are enthusiastic about
doing good things. (GWT)
I want to know:
did he give himself to redeem us from all iniquity etc SO we will be his own
people etc
or
did he give himself to reedeem us from all iniquity and by doing that we are
his own people
or perhaps something different.
I don't know much about the language, but I think I noticed something to do
with the aorists switching into something different, which might tell me
something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you.
