[B-Greek] Matt. 1:1 - GENESIS

Dear 'B-Greekers',

This may have come up before, but a Google search didn't find anything
(maybe I didn't do it right).

Bearing in mind:

(1) the use of GENESIS in Matt. 1:18 (according to the best manuscripts);

(2) its use in Luke 1:14 (is there any manuscript support for GENNHSIS
there?);

(3) the only other occurrences in the Greek N. T. (?): James 1:23 and James
3:6;

(4) the existence of a perfectly good word for 'genealogy' (GENEALOGIA);

wouldn't 'birth' be the most natural translation in Matt. 1:1?

Thankyou,

Andrew J. Birch
