[B-Greek] Strong's numbering system

Dear Sirs,

It has been mentioned on this site that there are various inconsistencies and possibly contradictions within Strong's numbering system. Apart from the fact that the system is old, as you very well know, it is still widely used, at least by some publishers, if not by the general public. Since Strong's mechanism is still out there as the default front runner, until something better comes along, I have to use it and make any adjustments that are necessary. I am sure that as I work with these numbers I will find some of these items but if there is anyone who could provide some specific instances which would illustrate the iintrinsic nature of these deficiencies and/or contradictions I would appreciate some samples.

I wish I could be more interested in conceptual information about the whole issue but unless I have in hand some existing alternative which is also available to the general public (as Strong's Concordance is, for example), no matter what the objections to strong are (and, of course, there are legitimate ones) I have to use Strong [I work for a company which wants me to do a publication with Strong's numbers in it]. If there is some publication which deals with this matter (precise examples of the problems) that would also be helpful.

Respectfully yours,

Jerry Reimer
