The αὐλός [AULOS] of which αὐλῷ [AULWi] is the dat (instrumental) was an instrument of the oboe type. It therefore refers to making a sound with this instrument. Σαλπιγξ [SALPIGC] should be familiar from the NT, e.g. Re 1.10
ἐγενόμην ἐν πνεύματι ἐν τῇ κυριακῇ ἡμέρᾳ καὶ ἤκουσα ὀπίσω μου φωνὴν μεγάλην ὡς σάλπιγγος

The passage thus uses λαλέω [LALEW] to signify producing musical sounds (even if it is τῇ καρδίᾳ [THi KARDIAi]).
