Can you imagine any committee constituted of -- to pick an arbitrary
number -- 7 (seven) B-Greekers coming to agreement over enough items
of fundamental grammar to compose a textbook in Biblical Greek? On
the off-chance that I were chosen to be one of them, I doubt I'd find
a single person who would agree with me about how to present the
topic of voice. I think there would be similar problems on treatment
of aspect. And just supposing that all seven are linguists, do you
think you could get them to speak/write the same language?
My last best hopes were on the Hellenistic Greek Grammar project that
was sponsored by Westar Institute and chaired by Darryl Schmidit.
Robert Funk and Darryl Schmidt have both passed away, but the project
was dead before them.
