[B-Greek] EI in Col 1:23/

Whether on a systematic theological basis such is possible or not is not the question.  The question is "What does this passage say?"  Bringing in other concerns is illegitimate in this discussion.

HH: Yes, shifting is a possibility. We know this from material elsewhere 
in the NT, like the parable of the four soils. There are definitely 
people who hear the gospel with rejoicing but later forsake it because 
of other desires or fears.
