I came across this in my translation studies tonight and I
thought this was interesting. Take notice of "the love of the Father"
Is του πατρος a subjective or objective genitive?
In other words does this verse mean, the love for the Father is not in the
one who loves the world? (objective)
or
is the love the Father produces (perhaps the love to give grace, and hence
eternal life) not in the one who loves the world? (subjective)
What do you think?
