Hello all

In a recent message ot this blog several books were recommedned as useful
tools in to read Greek:

A Patristic reader, by Rodney Whitacre
Philippians, A Greek Student's Intermediate Reader, by Jerry Sumney
Koine Greek Reader, by Rodney Decker.

I recently purchased all three on the strength of encouragement form our
blog here, and want to record my appreciation to those who suggested them.
They are excellent. In all three cases the authors have the clear aim of
wanting to aid people to read Greek, not merely to translate it. As we
all know, there is a radical difference between these two positions.

So, a thumbs up from this humble Greek Reader.

On a lighter (and more irreverent) note, another enjoyable tool for those
struggling near the beginning of their journey with NT Greek is Peter
Jones' Learn Greek. A fun book with simple excerises and witty stories,
bad puns etc, it makes the process as fun as posible without pretending to
take away the basic skull owrk that is needed to learn this wonderful
language (Peter Jones also has a similar work called Learning Latin, but
that of course is for another blog!).

Regards all
