The subject of the verb ESHMANEN is ambiguous. The case of hO QEOS is  
irrelevant since KAI in KAI ESHMANEN APOSTEILAS introduces a new  
clause. The semantic structure seems to point to IHSOUS CRISTOS as the  
subject, since AUTWi in EDWKEN AUTWi hO QEOS is coreferential with  
IHSOU CRISTOU who is the subject of DEIXAI TOIS DOULOIS AUTOU.
