Dear Matt,

You cited

Matt 5:18

IWTA hEN H MIA KERAIA OU MH PARELQH APO TOU NOMOU

Matt 5:20

OU MH EISELQHTE EIS THN BASILEIAN TWN OURANWN

Matt 5:26

OU MH EXELQHS ...

Carl Conrad observed in response to your question that OU MH + AorSubj is
used for “very strong injunction”. But I don’t think that implies that any
of the examples you gave from the NT involve an injunction, i.e. a strong
order or command. For example:

OU MH EXELQHS EKEIQEN hEWS AN APODWiS... (Mt. 5:26)

This does not command the person not to leave prison--it asserts, very
strongly, that the person will not (be allowed to) leave. Negative
injunctions are one class of uses of OU MH + AorSubj (e.g. Gal. 5:16), but
strong negative statements or assertions seem to be the most common class of
uses of the form. If I have done the Gramcord search correctly, Gal. 5:16

stands alone in the GNT as a strong negative injunction using this form. All
the rest seem to be strong negations.
