After I posted my request I checked BDF.
Section 237 (2) had:
"Mk 3:21 hOI PAR' AUTOU 'his own people, family' (LXX
[and Theod.] Sus 33, 1 Macc 9.44 v.l., 58; papyri.
He then references three works and adds this
parenthesis:
(in class[ical usage] it could be the envoys of
someone)
I was able to check the Sus 33 reference which was
'hOI PAR' AUTHS' 'her friends' (KJV) and 'her own
people' (NJB). Family could be included in this
context but it seems to allude to more than family. I
searched the LXX for the string exactly as it was
found in Mk. 3.21 and got no hits. I searched for the
phrase in variant forms and found the same usage as in
I Macc. 9.
So I still have my original request amended by what I
found in BDF.
ex animo
