Rahlf's reading here is γαζαρηνοί [GAZARHNOI] > the pl part of גזר [GZR]. It would appear that 967 (assuming that you are correct in your representation) simply has gotten it wrong. This may be due to the difference between Hebrew usage and Aramaic. There is what might be characterized as a shift from d --> z from Aramaic to Hebrew. Obviously, this is a shift in the other direction (z --> d) and might be explained by the fact that it is simply a transliteration of the Aramaic which is accommodated to Hebrew usage.

Subject: [B-Greek] GARADHNOUS
This is a reading found in codex 967 of the OG version of Daniel 5:7.
The Aramaic found in the MT is gazerin, and Theodotion transliterated
that. The 967 scribe either made an error or copied from an error of
the LXX or the LXX translators had a different reading in their Vorlage.
I was just curious if anyone knew if GARADHNOUS is a possible
transliteration of the Aramaic or whether their is an Aramaic word that it
could have been transliterated from? Also in 2:27 the 967 used
GARADHNWN, and in 5:8 the reading appears to be GARAZHNOI. I would appreciate
any help! Thank you!
