Greetings from a new member,

I tried to email author E. Blum to request a reprint (digital or
paper) of "The New Old Way of Learning Languages" , using the email
address he used in posts to this list, but the email was returned.

Is it possible that someone else might be able to help me out with
this? Or, perhaps someone has a current email address for Prof. Blum.
I used eblum at adelphia.net. I"ve googled the title without result;
sometimes current articles are scanned by someone and posted, though
not strictly kosher I suppose.

The article appears in the current issue of the American Scholar. It
is not one of the articles available at their online site, http://www.theamericanscholar.org/currentissue2.html
. I live in far southern Oregon, and no library within 200 miles
subscribes to this. Our public libraries and colleges have been on
very hard times here after the crash of the timber industry.

I'm one of those people who try for years and years to learn
classical Greek, leaving off for a few years and then starting again
and again. I took a year of night classes in 1975 and was up to the
point of reading Homer with difficulty and then other things
intervened Each time I am almost starting over. But I have continued
to collect works in Greek, including elementary readers, for that day
when I will finally make it back up to that level again. With luck I
can do it at a younger age than IF Stone, so I will have more years to
read Greek!

Thanks very much for any assistance,

Cynthia
