The entire Greek NT Testament in modern Greek (Demotic?) as read Vasilios Vellas can be found online at FaithComesByHearing.com (Faith Comes by Hearing). You can get several downloads from that site for free. A demo is available. The author reads at lightning speed and reminds me of the pace my Serbian relatives speak in a heated argument. Of course, all the accents are correct. After listening to a lot of Buth's GreekNT audio, one can follow along and get the gist of Vellas' audio, but of course eta = [i].

The links are as follows:

The Greek text being read is a modern translation (most probably the one produced by Vellas himself). I cannot find the text online, so I do not know if it is demotic or katharevousa. It's way different from the modern Greek text on UnboundBible.com.

The Greek Bible Society (http://en.greekbiblesociety.gr/AboutUs/Translations.dsp) has the following blurb about modern Greek texts:

-------start---
The Greek Bible Society already has offered to the Greek people three translations into different language levels.

    * a) Translation of the entire Bible by the Archimandrite and Neophytos Vambas, Professor of the University of Athens, (1850) (sometimes written Bambas)
    * b) Translation of the New Testament by a group of professors of the University of Athens led by Professor Vasilios Vellas (1967)
    * c) Translation of the entire Bible into Modern (demotic) Greek by a group of 12 Professors of the Theological Schools of Athens and Thessalonica (1997)
-------end---

Perhaps someone who knows more can shed more light on the various modern Greek translations, and know if there are any other audio tapes of a modern Greek Bible. I'm keeping a list at http://www.letsreadgreek.com/resources/greekntaudio.htm.
