Somewhat off topic, but I had a student once, a returning student in her
early 40's, who asked the question in class "Do we have any pictures of the
apostles?" I began to discuss a bit of art history and how art is an
interpretation, but she interrupted me with "No, didn't someone's
grandmother snap a shot with a Polaroid or something?"
And yes, she was serious. Believe it or not, I managed to handle it
without crushing her, and she did just fine in the class. She just had
some unfortunate gaps in her earlier education... :)
