[B-Greek] Question on 2 Thess 3:1 (TO LOIPON)

Thanks Carl. I appreciate your time and the answer. After I posted I found  
something in Dana Mantey that said something very similar to what you said on  
page 236, called adverbs - derived from fixed cases forms (the accusative)  
they actually mention this word with the same form. Also in their  accusative 
section, the adverbial accusative, of measure Luke 22:41, and of  manner Mt 10:8 
also reference Rom 16:6

The fact is that any neuter accusative can be used adverbially.  Very  
similar is TO TELOS, with much the same meaning; antithetically  PRWTON  
or TO PRWTON. It may be that such usage began with an  expression like  
TO LOIPON as a predicate word with an implicit ESTI:  "The last/ 
remaining thing is: xxx" -- then "is" gets omitted and "the  last  
thing" is simply used adverbially.
