For several Lents I have run a Koine Greek course for absolute beginners,
the only prerequisite is a knowledge of the Greek alphabet. This year I am
doing it on line for the first time. We read through some of the simpler
passages of the Gospels and we learn how to use some of the simpler tools
available. Emphasis is on reading aloud, and acquiring phrases or 'chunks'
of Greek, and Grammar is only introduced as needed.
At the end of the course most participants should be able to read fairly
fluently, have an aquaintence with basic grammar and vocabulary, and be
able to use simple tools.
Time required is about 30-60 minutes a day five days a week.
The emphasis is on the Greek, and not on the devotional aspects of the
passages.

Although there will be few on this list who could benefit from this course
(there may be a few 'lurkers' who are interested), readers may know some
persons who would be interested or who may benefit from such an approach. I
am currently in the process of putting the lesson together.

in the subject line.
