True, there are only 4 instances in the GNT; there are 9 in the LXX (I  
won't bother to list them); so it's not all that common in relation to  
hWDE and EKEI -- but its usage goes all the way back to Homer and it  
is still being used extra-biblical Hellenistic writers; see the entry  
in BDAG.
