[B-Greek] Adverb with no verbal element

The following explanation for diagramming sentences (per Grassmick) seems like a mistake. Here is how it reads: (He is defining what his "left-slant' terrace means.)

"Left-slant terrace: holds modifiers containing no verbal element (e.g. adjectives, adverbs, prepositional phrases, genitive, dative, and accusative noun modifiers)"

The second e.g. (adverbs) is what seems wrong to me. How can it be said of an adverb that it contains 'no verbal element'? Or, are there some adverbs that do not contain a verbal element?
