Subject: [B-Greek] Question on Coptic and Greek
Attempting to improve my skill level in Coptic from rudimentary to
elementary, I was looking at the Gospel of Thomas today, and noticed that
there are a lot of Greek words. Since the only Coptic literature I have
ever looked at are some portions of the NT itself and GoT, I was wondering
whether this is typical of Sahidic Coptic itself, lots of Greek loan words,
or does it reflect the specific background of the GoT? I know this is
slightly off topic, so feel free to answer offline.
