I think this is an appropriate question for on-list discussion,
inasmuch as we do encourage that posters use transliteration or
transliteration accompanying unicode Greek citations. If you're
concerned about transliteration for B-Greek, see the transliteration
page and the table of equivalences at: http://ibiblio.org/bgreek/bgtransliteration.html
(this is the final portion of the B-Greek FAQ at http://www.ibiblio.org/bgreek/faq.html
; our own conventional character for Omega is "W" as distinguished
from "O" for Omicron. Common also are the Beta-Code equivalents, where
a "=" typed AFTER a vowel indicates the long-vowel, e.g. "A=" = α,
"O=" = ω, etc.
But the answer to this question depends upon your operating system and
software.
On a Mac using OS X 10.5.7 and an extended US (UTF-8) keyboard, I can
press option-a and then the key for the vowel in question and the
result is the vowel with a macron (long mark) over it, thus: ō. With a
different keyboard, the key(s) to be typed might be different.
There are different options to be used in any particular Windows or
Linux operation system.
