While that seems an unlikely connection, it should be investigated. At the moment I'm busy trying to pull together my notes on the Apocalypse and I'm busy writing. If I get a chance to check it out, I'll let you know.

Did a little work on this. I appears that QEOS shows up in the GNT on
order of 200 times without the article, mostly in oblique cases, as a
nominative singular less than 20, and almost never [can you find one?]
as the agent of an active transitive verb. So I wonder, is there a
link between agency and the use of the article?
