This verb is intransitive and truly middle and should not be
understood as "forget" but "to escape notice," as Carl suggested, but
in this case no participle expresses any action the subject is doing
while not escaping notice, but "happens" can be understood. PAS hO
LOGOS is the subject. In this case the Hebrew source text suggested a
more classical understanding of the verb and its niph'al form
suggested the middle. Intransitive niph'al's sometimes come across to
Greek as middles or reflexives.

I suppose it is impossible to write any 'story' that is not
allegorical in proportion as it 'comes to life'; since each of us is
an allegory, embodying in a particular tale and clothed in the
garments of time and place, universal truth and everlasting life.
