Many thanks to the scholars who have responded to this question. I have a follow up.
Could a "minor" adjustment have been made if Luke wanted to show definitively the temporal relationship of Event A to Event B? When I saw in Event B the "Perfect periphrasis" I thought this in itself would place Event B along side or subsequent to (surely not antecedent to) the Present Tense PROSDECOMENOS of Event A. (The Perfect tense almost always functioning as a Present Tense with emphasis.)
In one sense, I'm asking if Luke went "out of his way" to create this ambiguity of sequence. If so, I would conclude that Luke did not want his readers to contemplate the relationship between these two events, like I'm doing :o (
