[B-Greek] Caragounis on Porter on Aspect

I think that Fanning discussion is too recent for it to be available online. Its from this issue:

BBR18.2 (2008) Chrys C. Caragounis, The Development of Greek and the New Testament:
Morphology, Syntax, Phonology, and Textual Transmission . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 352
Reviewed by Buist M. Fanning

Its a fantastic review, in my opinion. Caragounis is right to criticize Porter, but he went too far with other scholars, particularly Fanning & McKay (incidentally, McKay past away this week: http://readbetterpreachbetter.com/2009/03/14/vale-ken-mckay/).

Personally, I think there is just as much good in Caragounis as there is bad. The challenge for many will be sorting it out. And he wouldn't appreciate me saying this, but I think that Moises Silva's review in Westminster Theological Journal (WTJ 2005, pg 391ff.) a few years ago was spot on (despite Caragounis' protests to the contrary).

Ken,

Fanning takes Caragounis to task in Bulletin of Biblical Research (don't
remember which issue); you should be able to access it electronically, I
think.

Also, Mike Aubrey has mentioned Caragounis' views several times on his
blog:
