The central focus of B-Greek discussion has always been the Biblical
Greek language and the Biblical Greek text. While Biblical Greek texts
have occasionally been illuminated by comparison of how words or
phrases have been dealt with by translators, translation issues
regarding the Biblical Greek text have always been tangential to B-
Greek discussion, whether it's a matter of how a word or phrase is to
be conveyed in English or in some other language. It is the Greek word
or phrase that we want to illuminate first and foremost. Wayne Leman's
sister discussion list, B-Translation (https://lists.kastanet.org/Lists/Bible-Translation/List.html
) has been for several years now the appropriate forum for discussion
of issues relating to translation of the Biblical Greek text. I think
we have discussed the lexicology of MONOGENHS in the GNT (and LXX) --
probably more fully than any other Greek word or phrase in over a
decade and a half. I would urge those who want to continue discussion
of how to put MONOGENHS into English or some other language take that
discussion to B-Translation or offline.
