KAI EIPEN MOI, "MEGA SOI ESTIN TOU KLHQHNAI SE PAIDA MOU TOU STHNSAI TAS FULAS IAKWB KAI THN DIASPORAN TOU ISRAHL EPISTREYAI, IDOU TEQEIKA SE EIS DIAQHKHN GENOUS EIS FWS EQNWN TOU EINAI SE EIS SWTHRIAN hEWS ESXATOU THS GHS.
1. I would consider them genitives of direction and purpose (BDF §166).
2. TOU EINAI SE is a genitive of the articular infinitive expressing purpose (BDF §400) as is TOU STHSAI TAS FULAS in the first part of the verse.

Subject: [B-Greek] Genitives in Isa 49:6
In Isa 49:6 we read IDOU TEQEIKA SE EIS DIAQHKHN GENOUS EIS FWS EQNWN TOU EINAI SE. I have two questions.
1. What kind of genitives are GENOUS and EQNWN? They seem in the context to be the recipients of direct objects, e.g., "I have set you to be a covenant to the people, a light to the nations."
2. How can we determine if TOU EINAI SE goes with the words before it or the words after it? Thanks.
Ken
