There has been some chatter on and off about a Greek-Greek lexicon. This book just popped up on Textkit and Google Books:
Title Synonyma: Copia Graecorum verborum omnium absolutissima: ante hac nusq̆ terrarú uisa: pro Graecè loqui & scribere perquam facilè, benè, ac copiosè volentibus summo labore collecta
Author Martin Ruland (Marino Rulando)
Publisher Philippus Ulhardus, 1563
Original from the Bavarian State Library
The book can be found on Google Books at http://books.google.com/books?id=yi48AAAAcAAJ&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_v2_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q=&f=false
It lists the authors the content is drawn from. Kind of looks like a Woodhouse without any latin (modern language) glosses in the middle of the entry. It's organized by Latin headwords in alphabetical order, and it gives
you all the Greek synonyms for a given word or phrase. The font with all the Byzantine ligatures takes
some getting used to.... So, for
instance, the first phrase is A principio
('from the beginning'), and it lists all the Greek equivalents:
A principio
ἐξ
ἀρχῆς, ἐξ ὑπαρχῆς, τὸ καταρχὰς, τὸ ἐξαρχῆς, ἐκ ῥίζης, τῶν ἀρχῶν, τῶν
πρῶτων.
Abiectus:
ἀβέλτερος. ἀβίωτος, ἀγέλαιος. ἀγενής, έος. (?) ὁ. ἡ ἀήριθμος. ἀποθ?ος. ἀπόθετος. ὁ ἡ ἄππλαηχνος. ἄζ(?)μος. ὁ, ἡ ἀτίμητος. ...
Ablego:
Ἀποδιοπομπέομαι. ἀποπέμπω, & αποπεμπομαι. ἀποσκευάζομαι. Διαπέμπομαι. μεθίσημι.
