MH ALGEI hOTI AFISTAMAI

John (Litteral)--
There are two reasons that your own translation ("Do not grive that
departs") did not make sense: 1) hOTI can be either "that" or "because," but
the best choice here is "because," and 2) the second verb (AFISTAMI) is 1st
person singular ("I") not third person.

As Harold translated it ("Do not grieve because I am leaving."), the hOTI
makes more sense translated "because," However, in other sentences, hOTI
could mean "that." It's the context that counts ...
Just curious: What is the source of this quote?
