[B-Greek] please explain

Any first-year Greek grammar book (e.g.,Bill Mounce's *Basics of Biblical
Greek* and others) explains that the neuter plural subject is often used
with a singular verb. Authors highlight this point because it seems odd to
us as English speakers that the subject and verb don't "match."
