[B-Greek] Pronouncing PN

This a rather elementary question, but I'm curious nonetheless. In English
we don't pronounce the starting 'p,' so words like "pneumatology" are
pronounced "noomatology." French DOES pronounce the 'p' as I understand it,
so that pneu is "pah-neu" (or something rather close to that). So how does
this work in koine? I'm expecting it to be pronounced, (and I have been
pronouncing the p when I read aloud). Is this just something that looks
really odd to English speakers but is completely normal for Greek speakers
(or French speakers, for that matter)?
Thanks,

P.S. I can't figure out how to search the archives. I can't find a link or
search box on any of the website
