Have the contributors to b-greek ever considered a "wiki grammar" hosted on
ibiblio? It would be an efficient, interesting, and nearly effortless way
to collect some of the more lasting list-serve comments in one spot.

More blathering below, if the idea grabs you.

UNIQUE VALUE
Some grammars list opposing views, usually for the purpose of debunking
them. A wiki-grammar would be unique. It could accomodate different views
on topics, listing them under a common heading. How many comments and views
would a b-greek wiki list about the Middle Voice! I think it would be
fascinating.

AVOID REPETITION ON LIST-SERVE
One wiki-grammar would become a good place to begin for anyone who has a
basic question.

BYPASS DIFFICULTIES OF SEARCHING ARCHIVES
Searching the current annual files of posts is too unwieldy. To do it
properly, a person would need to download all posts into one file and then
search them with a desktop search engine (if I can every figure out G-Zip, I
plan on doing just that). Even then, hits for a certain point of interest
would be in the dozens and difficult to wade through.

EASY START UP FOR A WIKI
The only thing needed to start a wiki-grammar would be a basic outline of
grammar. Perhaps a person would add some some extra headings showing other
frequently discussed topics (pedagogy, recommendations re primers/ grammars/
lexicons, Greek testaments, etc.).

IDEA ABOUT AN INITIAL BOOST FOR THE WIKI
Following that, I would suggest enlisting volunteers to search the annual
files. The search would be simple. Just search posts for the word
"pipermail." This will result in all posts in which someone refered back to
an earlier thread (the links they provide contain the word "pipermail").
That should quickly lead a person to many of the more lasting comments that
deserve to be in the wiki-grammar.
