The Christian may receive an inheritance or suffer loss of that inheritance, in whole or in part, but the concept of an inheritance is NEVER used in reference to the non-Christian. This passage involves a rather common expression in the NT about believers receiving or forfeiting their inheritance based on their behavior. One's eternal destiny does not hang in the balance with such a context as this, at least not within conservative evangelicalism.

We need to be very careful here to steer clear of doctrinal and hermeneutical questions. I doubt that there's any real consensus on how this expression is to be understood by one group or by another. Let's steer altogether clear of that sort of discussion and argument, please!
