For an example of the phenomenon at work, see
http://www.english-the-easy-way.com/Nouns/Nouns_Page.htm that Barry H
included in a post in the most recent upwelling of the MONOGENHS
question. If you are looking for help with English grammar, take my
advice and do not go there. If you are English-fluent, it's good for
some chuckles; you will wonder whether you have wandered into an Onion
parody.
