I don't think either of your OT refs is relevant to AIRW THN hAMARTIAN. Without researching it out, I'd guess it stems from Hebrew nasa' chatat, meaning to forgive sin. nasa' literally means to 'lift up, pick up,' which corresponds pretty well to AIRO.
