Hello Stephen,
Nothing revolutionary here.... I always encourage reading, reading, reading! There simply is no substitute for time in the text. When I was a Greek student at University we used Zerwick's Grammatical Analysis as we read through passages. It's really helpful, especially for younger students in making grammatical connections with the text they are studying. It also isn't a very imposing tome! Hand them Robertson or BDF and they may run for the hills!
Another recommendation that was made to me by our esteemed leader was to get into extrabiblical "fun stuff" Greek. Karl recommended Apollodorus' library. It is a really fun read, and the grammar really isn't that difficult. I picked up the Loeb and read it in my spare time for fun. Nothing quite like reading about Heracles' exploits in Greek.
Warmest regards,
-Matthew Williams
