I agree with Barry; I sought out some of Zodhiates' written works
because I so admired him for being one of the very first to make Greek
audio recordings of the NT available. And I've since observed that some
of the same folks who consult Vines or Strongs or prefer the KJV on the
grounds that it's more trustworthy also like Zodhiates: he's
conservative, evangelical, easy to understand, and has written books
that make at least a little bit of Greek accessible to folks who haven't
or won't try to really learn the language.
If folks in your faith community respect Zodhiates' reference works, in
my view that would be enough reason to get whatever Zodhiates book(s)
they like, and inform yourself as to what your co-religionists are
reading so as to better communicate. But in my opinion his value as a
help to a student of Greek lies primarily in his audio recordings
(available at CBD and elsewhere; modern pronunciation).
My impression is that Zodhiates saw himself as a Greek
preacher/evangelist, not so much a teacher of the Greek language.
