Hello all, I've recently started a Greek study group with some of my friends
in my campus ministry. We'll be working through Mounce together. The
problem is pronunciation. We're wanting to use the imperial koine
pronunciation, but I've yet to find a handy chart to explain it that's
comparable to what you find in Mounce (or here, for instance:
http://www.greek-language.com/grammar/01.html). Is such a chart available?
I do have the long PDF that Buth has written where he makes the case for
imperial koine, but I would not be the one to extract a chart from that. I
hardly know what a fricative is!
I guess it's the diphthongs I'm confused about most of all. How are these
pronounced?
αυ/AU
ευ/EU
υι/UI
Are they diphthongs at all?
ερρωσθε,
Alex
