Girgis,

This has been a problem for many people over the years. If you search the archives using the site URL tag site:http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/ , you will find some of the threads on this topic and the solutions for some of them. Look for the keywords UNICODE, UTF-8, FIREFOX, IE-, Question marks, Formatting. I'm sure there are some other key terms that this issue could be found under. I am one of those people who can see the Greek characters correctly on the archive pages when I view them in a web browser, but when I get the B-Greek email digest, any characters in Greek Unicode appear as question marks, even the ones without accent marks. (I use the Hotmail client).

Some of the threads are as follows:

Reading Gibberish: http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/2007-June/043247.html

Unicode and Other Font Issues: http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/2006-October/040497.html

Greek Character Test: http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/2005-April/033907.html

Font Display in Firefox:

http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/2007-December/044963.html

A note to all, if you cannot view the Greek correctly in your emails, go to the Archives at http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/ and view them there. If you still cannot view them correctly there, you most likely need to set the encoding of your browser to UTF-8.

Hope this helps,
Louis Sorenson (B-Greek Co-chair)
