The page on my web-site, "Propositions Concerning Ancient Greek Voice (last revised October 13, 2005)" remains an outline of my perspective on the problems:

The best and most recent discussion of the issues has been on Mike Aubrey's blog, ΕΝ ΕΦΕΣΩ, "Deponency: The SBL Panel Discussion" -- several entries,
beginning with:

I've had a little bit of input into that. Whether all this will get put together into a fully-formulated
revised discussion of ancient Greek voice with a catalog of all the "Middle" verbs of the GNT remains to be seen.
